2011 Intern (Now at The University of Notre Dame)
Matthew Pinover was an intern at Spriegel & Associates, LLC with a main concentration on one of several entrepreneurial projects. He recently graduated with honors from Hudson High School as the Senior Class President.
Matthew has won various business competitions. In 2008, he co-drafted a business plan for the NaviCane, a cane designed to be used for the blind with built-in GPS navigation. The plan was submitted to the Scholarship of Entrepreneurial Engagement Business Plan Competition the following year, where out of 500 business plans it won 1st Place and received the second highest score in competition history. The Business Plan Competition sponsored by the Scholarship of Entrepreneurial Engagement Program of Ashland University.
In 2009, Matthew won 2nd Place in the Junior Achievement Titan Business Challenge, “a business strategy tournament that allows students to compete against one another as CEO’s of simulated companies in a software game”. There were over 60 students from 11 area high schools competing in the Challenge.
In addition, Matthew won 1st place in the 2009/2010 Scholarship of Entrepreneurial Engagement North East Ohio Science Concept Plan Competition. He co-authored the winning Super Bee Concept Plan, which discussed the use of a genetically-modified honey bee to combat colony collapse disorder.
Matthew won The Harvard Book Award 2010. It is an award given out by the alumni of Harvard University to the top-performing student(s) in 11th/12th grade reading classes in 1,900 “selected” high schools. The award has been in existence since 1910
Matthew co-founded and headed up a business club at his high school. Teacher and Business Club Advisor Betty Banks-Burke is a large part of the club’s success.
Matthew has been accepted at Dartmouth, Duke University and the University Notre Dame. This coming fall, Matthew has chosen to continue his business education at the University of Notre Dame.
His parents are Leonard and Stacie Pinover of Hudson, Ohio.
Matthew will be given the Spriegel & Associates, LLC; first annual scholarship (Up to $5000) based upon his success in his entrepreneurial project.
