Tidal Gardens received a big startup boost with Mr. Than winning the $30,000 grand prize in the 2005 COSE business plan competition as well as a $2,000 prize in the 2004 University of Akron business plan competition.  The company is now one of the largest coral reef aquaculture companies in the country housing over 5,000 gallons of reef aquarium systems in which hundreds of varieties of corals are propagated for saltwater aquarists and public aquariums across the U.S.  Than Thein is a passionate entrepreneur and commercialization expert.
